📖 Kids Kingdom Yeshua Story: “The Power Button in Mateo’s Heart”
In Kids Kingdom Yeshua, there was a boy named Mateo who had something very special inside him.
It wasn’t a toy.
It wasn’t a superpower like flying.
It was something even stronger…
It was a “POWER BUTTON” God had placed in his heart called Self-Control.
But Mateo didn’t always know how to press it.

🍪 The Cookie Test
One afternoon, Mateo’s mom put a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies on the table.
“Don’t eat any yet,” she said. “Dinner is almost ready.”
Mateo stared at the cookies.
They smelled AMAZING.
They looked SO soft.
His hand started moving slowly toward the plate…
Inside his heart, he heard a small whisper:
🕊️ “You can wait. Be strong.”
That was the Holy Spirit reminding him about his power button.
Mateo stopped. He took a deep breath.
“I can do this,” he whispered.
He pulled his hand back.
CLICK! 🔘
He pressed the self-control button!
When dinner was over, his mom smiled and said,
“Because you waited, you can have TWO cookies.”
Mateo felt proud — not just because of the cookies, but because he obeyed.

😡 The Anger Test
The next day at school, a boy knocked over Mateo’s blocks tower on purpose.
CRASH!
Mateo felt fire in his chest.
His fists tightened.
He wanted to yell.
He wanted to push.
Again, that whisper came:
🕊️ “Slow down. Choose peace.”
Mateo closed his eyes for a second.
He pressed the button again.
CLICK! 🔘
Instead of yelling, he said,
“That made me sad. Please don’t do that.”
The other boy looked surprised… then said, “Sorry.”
And guess what? They rebuilt the tower together.

💡 Mateo Learned
That night, Mateo prayed:
“Jesus, thank You for giving me self-control. Help me press the button every day.”
And Jesus smiled, because Mateo was learning something very important:
Self-control means letting God help you choose what is RIGHT, not just what you FEEL.

🌟 Bible Verse
“A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.” — Proverbs 25:28
But when we use self-control, God helps protect our hearts!

💬 Lesson for Kids
In Kids Kingdom Yeshua, every child has a power button too:
🔘 When you want to yell
🔘 When you want to grab
🔘 When you want to disobey
You can stop… pray… and PRESS THE BUTTON.
That’s real strength 💪 — the kind that comes from God.
