The Little Seed That Would Not Quit
In the peaceful land of Kids Kingdom Yeshua, there was a little boy named Eli who loved learning about God. Every morning, Eli looked out his window at the garden behind his house. He loved the flowers, the birds, and the bright sunshine.
One day, Eli’s mother gave him a tiny seed.
“Plant this seed and take care of it,” she said.
Eli looked at the seed and asked, “Can something this small really grow?”
His mother smiled and said, “Yes, but it will take time, patience, and perseverance.”
So Eli dug a little hole in the ground, placed the seed inside, covered it with dirt, and poured water over it.
The next morning, Eli ran outside to check on it.
Nothing.
The second day, he checked again.
Still nothing.
By the third day, Eli felt disappointed. “Maybe this seed is not growing at all,” he said.
Just then, Grandpa Mateo came by and said, “Do not give up too soon, Eli. Some good things take time.”
Eli sighed. “But I want to see it grow now.”
Grandpa Mateo knelt beside him and said, “Perseverance means you keep going, even when you do not see results right away.”
Eli thought about those words.
So the next day, he watered the soil again. Then he did the same the next day, and the next.
One afternoon, dark clouds filled the sky. Heavy rain fell, and strong winds shook the garden. Eli looked outside and felt worried.
“Oh no,” he said. “Now my seed will never grow.”
The next morning, the ground was wet and messy. Eli almost gave up.
But then he remembered a Bible verse he had learned:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9
Eli whispered, “If I do not give up…”
So he kept going.
He pulled away the weeds.
He watered the soil.
He waited patiently.
He prayed to Yeshua.
“Lord Yeshua, please help me keep trying.”
Days passed.
Then one bright morning, Eli looked down and gasped.
A tiny green sprout was pushing up through the dirt.
“It grew!” Eli shouted. “It grew!”
His family came running. Eli smiled with joy.
Grandpa Mateo said, “You see? The seed did not quit, and neither did you.”
As the days passed, the sprout grew stronger. It stood through wind, rain, and sunshine. Eli learned that growing takes time, and Yeshua helps us keep going.
Soon, Eli began to use perseverance in other parts of his life too.
When reading felt hard, he kept practicing.
When chores felt boring, he finished them anyway.
When he made mistakes, he asked God for help and tried again.
Eli learned that perseverance is not only about growing plants. It is also about growing in faith.
It means not quitting when things feel hard, slow, or frustrating. It means trusting Yeshua, even when we cannot yet see what He is doing.
That evening, Eli stood in the garden and thanked God.
“Thank You, Yeshua, for teaching me to keep going.”
And every time Eli saw the plant growing tall and strong, he remembered this truth:
With Yeshua’s help, I can keep going.
With Yeshua’s help, I do not have to give up.
Bible Verse
Galatians 6:9
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
