The Little Sparrow Who Watched Everyone Else

Bible Theme: Mind your own work, trust God, and don’t worry about others

Key Verse:Ā ā€œMake it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands.ā€ — 1 Thessalonians 4:11

🌿 The Story

Once upon a time, in a beautiful garden God had made, there lived a little sparrow named Pico 🐦.

Pico loved to fly, but he had a problem.

Instead of focusing on his own job, Pico was always watching everyone else.

He watched the ants carrying food and said,

ā€œWhy do they get so much to do?ā€

He watched the bees making honey and said,

ā€œWhy are they so busy? I wonder what they’re talking about.ā€

He watched the butterflies and thought,

ā€œI wish I had wings like theirs.ā€

Because Pico spent so much time watching others, he forgot to build his own nest.

One day, a gentle wind came through the garden. Pico became worried.

ā€œOh no! I don’t have a nest!ā€

Pico flew to Old Owl, the wisest bird in the garden šŸ¦‰.

šŸ¦‰ The Wise Advice

Old Owl smiled kindly and said:

ā€œPico, God gave each of us our own job.

When you worry about what others are doing, you forget what God asked you to do.ā€

Then Old Owl read a verse God had written in the sky:

ā€œMind your own business and trust the Lord.ā€

(Based on 1 Thessalonians 4:11)

Pico nodded and prayed:

ā€œGod, help me focus on what You want me to do.ā€

🐦 A Happy Ending

Pico stopped watching everyone else and started working on his own nest.

Soon, his nest was strong and safe.

Pico felt peaceful, happy, and proud—not because he was better than others,

but because he was doing what God made him to do.

From that day on, Pico remembered:

šŸ‘‰ When I mind my business and trust God, everything works better.

🌈 What Kids Can Learn

  • God gives everyone different jobs

  • We don’t need to compare ourselves to others

  • Focusing on our own work brings peace

  • God is happy when we obey Him

šŸ™ Short Prayer for Kids

ā€œDear God, help me focus on what You want me to do.

Help me not worry about others, and trust You with my life.

Thank You for loving me.

In the name of Yeshua, amen.ā€
